Plot available in proposed eco village
The deadline to apply for a plot in the proposed Llamas eco
village, situated on the outskirts of Glandwr, is fast
approaching.
The village is a pioneering low impact project that would be one
of the first of its kind in the UK. The small holdings would be
constructed out of stainable materials, run on renewable energy and
occupants have to prove that they can make some of their living off
the land.
The planned development will consist of nine small holdings, a
campsite and a community hub building.
Previously all plots were taken, but one of the village's
prospective residents has decided to pull out of the project,
leaving one plot open for development.
"Interested parties would need to do a huge amount of paperwork
in a short amount of time to integrate their plans into the existing
plans," said Llamas co-founder Paul Wimbush.
"On the plus side, at the end of the day they would get an eight
acre small holding plot with planning permission for £30,000."
The first Lammas application was turned down in October of this
year. Undaunted the group are busy working on a revised application
with five year cash flow forecasts for all land based industries,
more details on farming and crops and a revised traffic plan.
Paul explained that the total sum of £30,000 would only be
payable when the village has been granted planning application.
Until then successful applicants only have to pay £750 towards the
cost of submitting the revised planning application.
Anyone who is interested in the plot needs to put together
designs for their land based lively hoods as well as designs on how
they would lay the plot out.
"A few people have expressed serious interest," said Paul. "We
welcome applications from local people."
