  West Wales Scythe Course

"We are holding a Beginners Scythe course at the Dyfed Permaculture Farm Trust (near Drefach Felindre) on the 31 st May. The scythe has undergone somewhat of a renaissance in recent years (see www.scytheconnection.com for more information). The Austrian scythe is light, easy and enjoyable to use, can help with a wide variety of tasks in the garden or small holding and is much better for the environment then lawnmowers or strimmers. On the course we will cover the basic mowing techniques - everything from mowing lawns and cutting hay to bramble bashing - and look at how to keep your scythe sharp and in tip top mowing condition. We will be using the Austrian type scythe and there will be scythes available to borrow if you don't have your own. The day will run from 10 am until 4 pm and will cost £30. Anyone interested in taking part should reply to the above e-mail or call me on 07813 464990"

  "The Land" Magazine

The land is a magazine written by and for people who believe that the roots of justice, freedom, social security and democracy lie not so much in access to money, or to the ballot box, as in access to land and its resources.

It is an excellent publication which openly explores and debates planning and land issues.
